Grant Awarded to Rainbow Acres
We have exciting news to share at Rainbow Acres! Thanks to the incredible generosity of the ACF Foundation of Sedona, we’ve been awarded a grant of $5,000. This grant was awarded to Rainbow Acres for the Vocational Program, which allows the Ranchers, Kelly O. included, to receive vocational training to acquire work in their desired field. This grant is a testament to the unwavering support we receive from our community, and it has allowed us to make a profound impact on the lives of the Ranchers.
Paid Vocational Training
One shining example of the transformative power of this grant is Kelly, a devoted Rancher with a lifelong dream of working with animals. Thanks to the programs we offer, Kelly has been able to gain invaluable on-site experience caring for horses, goats, and various other animals at Rainbow Acres. Her passion for animal welfare also led her to volunteer for several years at the Humane Society and work locally at an animal clinic.
The cumulative experience Kelly gained through these opportunities paved the way for her to secure a position as a Kennel Tech/Veterinary Assistant trainee at a leading Animal Hospital in Sedona, AZ, earlier this year. This is where her journey took a remarkable turn, as she now receives paid Veterinary Assistant Certification training as part of her Kennel Tech role.
Kelly’s transformation has been nothing short of extraordinary. Her confidence and self-esteem have soared, and she has consistently received glowing evaluations from her employer. Her supervisor describes her as a dependable employee who listens attentively, asks insightful questions, and embraces learning with enthusiasm. Kelly herself joyfully exclaims, “This is my forever job! This is what everything was leading up to. This is what I always wanted to do, and I love it here!”

Their support has made life-changing experiences possible for all the residents at Rainbow Acres who benefit from our vocational program.
